2018
LyondellBasell completed the acquisition of A. Schulman, Inc., a leading global supplier of high-performance plastic compounds, composites and powders. The acquisition more than doubled LyondellBasell's existing compounding business and broadened the company's reach into growing, high-margin end markets such as automotive, construction materials, electronic goods and packaging.

LyondellBasell marked a significant milestone in the company’s by breaking ground on the largest propylene oxide and tertiary butyl alcohol (PO/TBA) plant in the world.  The project is the single largest capital investment that either LyondellBasell or its predecessor companies have ever embarked on.

2017
Starts construction of new Hyperzone PE plant in La Porte, Texas, utilizing the company’s new proprietary technology.

Celebrates 60-year anniversary of commercial sales of polypropylene in Ferrara, Italy.

2016
Acquires Zylog Plastalloys Pvt. Ltd. in India.

Completes a multi-year growth program that included 8 major expansions representing a 20% increase in U.S. ethylene capacity.

2015
Celebrates fifth anniversary as publicly-traded company.

Acquires SJS Plastiblends in Aurangabad, India.

2012
LyondellBasell stock is added to the Standard & Poor's 500. Increased natural gas liquids feedstock flexibility to 85 percent of total U.S. ethylene capacity.

2010
Emerges from Chapter 11 after filing in 2009. LyondellBasell is listed on the NYSE as a publicly traded company (Ticker symbol: LYB).

2008
Completes acquisition of Solvay Engineered Polymers, Inc.

2007
Basell and Lyondell merge to become LyondellBasell Industries.

2006
Lyondell acquires CITGO’s ownership interest in LCR resulting in Houston Refining LP (formerly LCR) becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of Lyondell.

2004
Lyondell acquires Millennium Chemicals Inc. As a result, Equistar becomes a wholly owned subsidiary of Lyondell.

2001
Basell completes start-up of the world's largest low density polyethylene plant (LDPE) in Berre France, with a single line capacity of 320,000 tons per year.

2000
Basell is formed through the merger of Montell, Targor and Elenac; a 50/50 joint venture between BASF and Shell.
